So, how about an afternoon tea party in the Manor, in the south facing garden thereof, proceeded by a few lengths in the pool with friends and/or family? And that may be extended to your staying-over-family or friends relaxing in the two totally self contained one bedroomed single rise apartments set either side of the pool complex. (Then again, some of you may consider the rental return, circa £500 per unit, inc of services). Whatever and for what suits you; for there's clearly no taking away from the fact that this is a significant combination of some seriously versatile accommodation. Which, whilst maybe not unique to the east side of Wirral, certainly it's not far off the mark....

The main house itself is big; big and bright and big and light, big and flows seamlessly. And we say Intabene Manor has, as your needs may require, to be an absolutely fab house for entertaining. However, if you're not into all that particularly, then well it's certainly a home for spreading yourselves about in, for relaxing in, for being absorbed in, in such a way as to forget about all the usual DG. (Daily Grind).

Clearly the pool complex helps; so too the rental return from the 'annexes' standing either side of said pool - should you so choose. Simply these apartments come as follows: their own totally separate parking facilities; one with separate kitchen, living room, bedroom and shower room; the other with a combined kitchen and living space, bedroom and shower room and private garden space (simply separated by a little fencing).

Then there's the return from the solar panels. It's not a huge return but we guess a very satisfying one. Around about £1,000 pa from the Grid with payment taken account even from the electricity the Manor consumes.

Now the Intabene Manor's colonial design wont be everybody's cup of tea, of course, however it is quite an intriguing design, indeed dramatic. Take the sweeping central staircase, Gone With The Wind - like, it makes a significant statement. So too of course the colonial pillars at the front entrance welcoming the entourage of cars that easily sit on the forecourt for that tea party - the owners' neatly tucked away in the double garage.

With acres of ground floor space, especially it has to be said, for the Party House size of a kitchen come living dining space which can match up to any of the ultra ultra modern designs of today, as in 'now'; (just don't leave the teenagers home alone for the weekend. This room plus the temptation of the pool, plus sunshine equals may be just too much fun .....)

For the autumn/winter months you may wish to snuggle down in the tv area around from, but in close proximity to both oven and chef, or perhaps relax in the smaller of the two living rooms. (Leaving the dining room quarters for Christmas events looming).

Meanwhile the more studious will take to the open plan yet very clearly defined study area at first floor. (See photos). Good if not generous home office space indeed.

And it is a defining word, the word 'space' for the Manor. Yes, you can see from the floor plan and from our slide-show of pics how 'spacious' this home is. Both internal accommodation as well as outdoor, plus pool, plus annex apartments. But from a practical point of view, and certainly this relates particularly to first floor accommodation, is of how much storage space there is.

So listed in no particular order we'd refer to the 'ironing room', separate from the utility cupboard, housing and plumbing for washing machine, (a utility room off the kitchen too); general store cupboard, a second store cupboard; the walk in wardrobe closet to the master suite (that having a super large en suite bathroom facility with 'his and her' basin plus room enough for the whole team in the extra large whirlpool bath, as well as a balcony from which to take morning coffee and croissant).

There are dressing room facilities to the second south facing bedroom, and second en suite to one of two north to north west facing double bedrooms and of course a 'main' shower room facility. So, as we say, plenty of space.


And on reflection, in taking our slide show of photos, what we became aware of was that whilst the southern boundary abuts a reasonably busy road, Upton Road, the natural screening and general depth of plot blankets much. Of course there are always compromises to be made - you'd have preferred a house with six bedrooms, four reception rooms, double garage, private gardens and a swimming pool complex in the country, in the middle of nowhere. Problem is that it's not five minutes to a selection of schools, ten minutes from the Mersey tunnel for the city, that it's not three minutes from free parking for the station for a more relaxing journey, or the same to a Tesco Metro.
